How can we end this pandemic once and for all?

I'd like to start off by saying that I'm not an immunologist or an epidemiologist, so my opinions are speculation as best, but isolating and distancing seem to work, SO....

I've recently come across an article stating that a new variant has been discovered in the south of France, likely coming from a travelling from Cameroon.

Now, I've been saying this to anyone who would listen since before lockdowns ever started, but clearly spreading this idea around my circle of friends is fruitless, so I need to put it out there.

SHUT IT DOWN! Yes, all of it. Ground the planes, close the borders, the schools, everything except hospitals, powerplants and sewage/water maintenance. Give everyone 24-48 hours to get all the medications and food/supplies they'll need for two weeks and then CLOSE IT ALL DOWN. Use the police if you have to - since they're on a power trip already, might as well use them for something. Fine people for leaving the house and redirect them back inside if they can't prove they're in need of dire medical help.

I'm so tired of checking the news and hearing about "new variants of concern", seeing cases and death counts rise, and hearing from my friends that they're getting sick. Enough is enough. This needs to end. No amount of capital gain is worth what we are going through. (Every mask that I've gotten has been free because I refuse to pump money into profiting the pandemic).

So, write your political representatives, email the CDC... do something. Because enough is enough.

And don't forget to get your booster dose ASAP.
